Engagement and couple’s photography is a love story photoshoot, where Ivan uses his years of fashion photography to capture stunning engagement photos that truly tell your story.
WHAT SETS US APART?
To us, an engagement shoot is not a pre-wedding shoot. It’s your chance to focus on the two of you with no one around, with no distractions. It’s a time to document your relationship and love in the most vibrant, dynamic, intimate way.
A picture is worth a thousand words! Just scroll down to see some of our work and start thinking about your perfect couples shoot. Let’s work together on a concept that fits your vision!
Our favorite client comment about an engagement shoot with us is:
“IF WE HADN’T FOUND MIND ON PHOTOGRAPHY, WE WOULD HAVE SKIPPED THE ENGAGEMENT SHOOT ENTIRELY!”
Each love story is different: Ivan’s fifteen-year-old son Max and his girlfriend Grace wanted to mark the second anniversary of their relationship by recreating the iconic winter scene from the 1970 movie Love Story, while June and David wanted to do a couples shoot to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Lydia and Filipe went to the skate park for their shoot, while Alice and Ilya took advantage of the idyllic setting of Central Park in New York.

In today’s world, when you hire a photographer, you are hiring an artist, not someone who snaps a few photos, runs them through an editing program, and sends you a “viewing gallery,” leaving you to spend hours sifting through images to select the best ones.
An engagement shoot isn’t just a photoshoot — it’s a curated experience designed to create artfully crafted images you will treasure.
After your engagement session, I review all the photographs (typically around 100-150 images), carefully select the best, and then individually edit each one to ensure every photograph reflects you at your best.
As the final product, you’ll receive a complete gallery of fully edited, high-resolution, print-ready images — delivered via a secure digital download. The final images will be watermark-free and ready for printing. I’ll also guide you in selecting the best ways to print and display your images,
This is a fully inclusive, boutique-level service, allowing you to simply enjoy the experience and the final result.
Absolutely! Photographing surprise proposals is one of my favorite parts of this work! I would love to help you plan all the details, from helping you select the best location, to managing the timing and the best lighting. All you have to do is focus on the big question and I will handle the rest!
Of course, every proposal session includes a couples’ portrait session!
As in all other portrait photography, I tell my clients: be yourself and have fun!
Don’t worry about being comfortable in front of the camera or not, once again, making you comfortable and letting you forget that you “hate having your picture taken” is actually my job!
If you like, before the shoot, we’ll chat about your style, favorite spots, and any ideas you want to try. Pick outfits that make you feel comfortable, confident and relaxed.
Absolutely! Actually I encourage couples to change outfits and, if time allows, I love to move around to several locations, as this adds variety to your photos and helps capture different moods and styles—all in a single session.
The short answer: every season is great, so think outside the box, find your own perfect time for a shoot and offer its own atmosphere and visual poetry!
Spring says renewal! It’s filled with soft light, blooming flowers and makes you think of the dreamy romantic backdrop, straight out of The Great Gatsby.
By definition summer is long days and longer golden hours, a dream for any photographer. Summer says, breath and a warm, glowing light! Think elegance, and effortless sophistication, reminiscent of The Talented Mr. Ripley.
Good thing we are in the center of the world, for the rich, warm tones offered by New England foliage. The vibrant colors feel like a Ralph Lauren campaign, luxurious, and romantic.
Winter often gets overlooked, but it is magic. Picture the cinematic beauty of A Love Story — soft snow falling, cozy textures, and a couple in love, playing in the snow! What can be better than the quiet elegance of winter creates a refined, almost ethereal atmosphere.
Whatever the season, we’ll design your session to reflect your style, your story, and the mood you want to capture.
The ideal light depends on the location of the shoot and the atmosphere you want to create.
An urban setting offers more flexibility. The city architecture provides beautiful pockets of shade and diffused light, even on the sunniest days, allowing for elegant, editorial-style portraits throughout most of the day.
For an outside shoot, beached, open fields, gardens, late afternoon, closest to the sunset (the golden hour) offers the most flattering light. This soft, golden hour creates warmth and depth.
Midday light is harsher as it is more direct, but don’t worry, with careful positioning we can make a midday sessions work!
